24th Reading Session
Ancient Greek sage Socrates once put forward a proposition: Know yourself. So, can you answer the question 'Who are you?' If you are also interested, you may wish to follow the footsteps of teacher Yang Hongrui into the 'Sophie's World' to find the answer to the question.
First and foremost, Sophie's World is an introductory philosophy book that tells the story of a 14-year-old girl, Sophie, who gradually learns the mysteries of philosophy and the meaning of human existence through the guidance of a mysterious philosophy teacher, Albert. Also, the book is rich in contents, containing both philosophical knowledge and profound reflections on human thinking and life.
To be concrete, Yang Hongrui introduced the main contents and characters of the novel, pointing out that philosophy is not only a subject, but also a way of thinking, which can guide us to think about the meaning and value of life. After all, in our daily life, we often encounter various problems and puzzles. By contrast, philosophical thinking can help us find answers and find the direction of life as well.
To put it into a nutshell, the world is big, yet we are small. Although we cannot judge our world by our own strength, when we look at the stars above us and think about our place and the value of life, that is when philosophy gives us ideas. More noticeably, we're all gonna sit on top of the white rabbit's fur one day.
